The Consistency Advantage
why everyday consistency isn’t sexy, but it works every time
When I first started writing what would become The Consistency Advantage, the foundation beneath everything I’m building now, I didn’t realize it would grow into something bigger.
It wasn’t a flashy title, and that was the point.
Consistency isn’t sexy; it works every time.
This evolution didn’t start here.
A decade ago, when I wrote What You Can When You Can and later the workbook that followed I was already circling the idea I just didn’t have the language yet to name consistency as the through-line of my life.
TCA wasn’t a shift in focus; it was finally seeing the pattern I’d been living all along.
This simple idea became the heartbeat of my upcoming book, Everyday Consistency: the hidden power of showing up.
When people ask me where I fit in the conversation about habits, I tell them this: if James Clear’s Atomic Habits stands on one side and Charles Duhigg’s The Power of Habit stands on the other, I’m somewhere in the middle: tattooed, laughing, probably oversharing, preaching the power of showing up.
I love that juxtaposition: that consistency didn’t need to come in a buttoned-up package to be powerful.
It made sense.
Until it didn’t.
One night last wintering, while brainstorming yet another subtitle, I realized each one was arguing with the title itself.
That’s when it hit me: The Consistency Advantage wasn’t the book. It was the brand, the bigger idea.
And Everyday Consistency: The Hidden Power of Showing Up wasn’t just part of it, it was the foundation beneath it.
From that realization, everything snapped into place.
The other books weren’t side projects; they were the natural extensions: already written, already in motion.
Parenting Consistently. Health Consistently. Money Consistently (co-authored with a financial expert). Dating Consistently. (Titles pending—but you get the idea.)
Even the one about picking heavy things up and putting them back down…a different kind of strength training.
The first of these is already out in the world: The Sacred Return a micro-book about rituals, return, and what consistency looks like in Jewish life.
It’s the first glimpse of what The Consistency Advantage is becoming: a through-line, not just a series.
Consistency isn’t a strategy; it’s a shift.
It’s never been about hype or hustle.
It’s about calling what I’ve always done by its real name: consistency.
It’s the heart of The Consistency Advantage and the promise behind Everyday Consistency: the hidden power of showing up.
Pre-orders begin next month.

I’ve been inwardly resisting the idea of consistency—I’m not sure why. Because I’m afraid of it? Or a skeptic of some kind? Not sure. But after reading a sample of The Sacred Return, I quickly ordered it and can’t wait to read it.
