Whether you listen to the VoiceOver for accessibility, because you’re more of an auditory learner or so you can grab some movement while we’re together—it will consistently be an option.
We made it!
Daylight Saving Time – that magical moment when we spring forward and bid a not-so-fond farewell to the darker days of winter.
I know it’s hard the first few days (is it aging? I have no idea, but these days the hour loss feels worse than jetlag).
I also know the bonus energy I get from no longer starting work in the dark and ending work in the dark is, as the kids used to say, amazeballs.
And yet I’m aware it’s not all amazeballs to all of us.
If you’re firmly in the I hate DST camp— consider this an apology for my ebullience.
And if you’re part of the USA who doesn’t participate (shout-out to you Hawaii, Arizona, Puerto Rico) or a global reader (heeey Kenya, Australia, Portugal & others!) consider this an apology for the celebration which doesn’t apply however the intent of the post still does.
Sidestory: In the states when we are little (or 54) the way we remember which direction the clocks move is thru the catchy phrase SPRING FORWARD, FALL BACK. Unfortunately this little device is NOT how my brain works and a few years in a row ChildCarla FELL FORWARD (*that* makes sense!) and was outside waiting for Sunday School pick up 2 hours early.
So here we are: the end of wintering and it’s as though our clocks are saying, "It’s go time! Time to put all the wisdom you’ve gathered into action.”
We've mastered the art of cozying up indoors, perfected the craft of comfort foods, and maybe even picked up a new hobby or two.
It’s time to halt the hibernation and put our ideas, aspirations and new habits into motion—whether it's getting out into the dirt and planting the stuffs we've been daydreaming about or taking up new outdoor activities we've only experienced vicariously through winter streaming (just me?).
The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible.

Spring reminds us even the darkest days have an end.
The past 16 or so weeks we’ve posed to ourselves the sometimes scary question of: What arises during my quiet and solitude?
It’s time for those metaphorical seeds to burst into full bloom.
rebirth
discovery
anticipation
GREEN (foreshadowing!)
Is the post-Wintering announcement of our intentions a tad terrifying?
Hell yes it is!
However it’s only when we put ourselves in the place of having the opportunity to let ourselves down in a big, bad way do we know our goals are audacious enough.
(I’ll give you a moment to reread that. I’ve reread many, many times.)
I present to you The Consistency Advantage book.
💫 The coming together of 16+ weeks of remembering who I am and why I’m here.
💫 Of personal exploration and of paying attention.
💫 Of realizing no matter my title—from Chief Culture and Inclusion Officer to OG Blogger to Mom—I show up and preach and proselytize about the power and pattern of consistency because I *know* it’s the only way.
Wintering-created; fall 2024 officially released.
Now it’s your turn.
Will you be brave and share alongside me?
From a new meditation practice to recommitting to reading to realizing slowing down isn’t as scary as it seems—what plans or habits emerged for YOU the past 16 weeks?
The daily 5 priorities have seen me through this snuggled in stage. There are so many things I’m looking forward to in this next season and your book is on that list! 🙌
I listened to this and enjoyed the tone and pace of your voice. I also enjoyed the content and have found it particularly interesting that today we also start a “New Moon” phase.perfect synchronicity!
